JoAnne Innocenti
Assistant Principal

Hello Aloe Gators!

I am JoAnne Innocenti, the Assistant Principal at Aloe Elementary. I continue to be amazed at the wonderful Aloe staff with which I have the honor of working. Prior to being the Instructional Coach and teaching at Aloe, I taught 5th Grade at Saegert Elementary School in Killeen, Texas. My husband retired from the Army in 2008 after 21 years of service, and we transferred home to Victoria.

My husband and I have three adult children: our son, Will, and his wife Katelin; our daughter, Jessica, who lives and works here in Victoria; and our daughter, Rachel, who is in a doctoral program at Texas A&M. We have two big dogs, Daisy and Molly, but seem to always have "extra" dogs in the yard whenever someone needs to drop one off at "doggie daycare."

We have two grandchildren, Evelyn and Liam, who we adore and just don't get to see often enough, as their daddy is a soldier stationed in Killeen.

I welcome thoughts and ideas, and words of encouragement from any of our Aloe parents, community member, and stakeholders for the betterment of all our Aloe Gators!

Kristina Hurley
Principal

Hello Aloe Gators!

My name is Kristina Hurley and I am starting my 10th year at Aloe Elementary. This is my 7th year as the proud Principal; previously I was the Assistant Principal for 3 years. In all, I have a total of 21 years experience in Education. Throughout my career, I have taught both regular education and special education in Del Valle ISD, Bryan ISD, and Calhoun County ISD. I also have experience as an Instructional Coach. I received my Bachelor's Degree from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em!) and my Master's Degree from The University of Houston-Victoria.

I am married to a wonderful man named Clint. He graduated from Texas A & M University so I live in a "House Divided." We have two amazing sons (Eli is 18 and Noah is 14) and they cheer for both the Longhorns and the Aggies - they haven't picked a definite side yet. They keep us very busy attending their sporting events and other after school club activities. We also have a black Lab named Koda, 6 Watusi cows (Eve, Butterscotch, T-Bone, & Big Red), and about 25 chickens.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, going to the beach, watching movies, reading, and scrapbooking. My family and I are also big sports fans so we enjoy watching whenever we can - especially football and baseball!

I am looking forward to a GREAT school year. I have a feeling this is going to be our BEST year yet at Aloe! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. GO GATORS!

GIVE YOUR CHILD TWO (FREE) GIFTS!

1. The gift of setting an example of being on time. Punctuality is a positive habit. Attendance has been excellent and there have been few tardies. Morning announcements begin at 7:30 and class officially starts at 7:35. Students arriving after 7:25 who were planning to eat breakfast will be given a tray to take to their classroom.

2. The gift of independence. Love ‘em and leave ‘em, but just for a little while! Aloe staff prides itself on protecting the safety of its students. All staff is on duty @ 7:00 a.m. We unload and greet them at their car or bus, greet them in the foyer and make sure they get to breakfast and their classroom. Teachers are in their classrooms awaiting their arrival. For the safety of our students and staff, every adult entering the building at any time must sign in and out. This can cause a lot of congestion in the mornings if you choose to walk your child to class. Please drop your child off quickly as all parents are to be out of the building by 7:30 a.m. Tip: Staying in your vehicle means there will be fewer people using the crosswalk, less chance for an accident to occur, allows traffic to move along more smoothly and reduces congestion in the foyer when signing in and out.
